WHO IS BEHIND
I was born and raised in Muggia, a little fisherman's village near Trieste, a beautiful city on the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy, only two hours' drive from Venice.
I have been lucky to have two wonderful parents who preferred to spend money traveling instead of buying a big house or using their salary to purchase things they didn't need.
And I'm so thankful for that smart choice they made.
First, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your presence here and interest in learning more about me. Your support means the world to me, and I am truly thankful for you.
Hi, I'm Valentina, but you can call me Vale.
I'm a superorganized Italian passionate about well-planned travels and delicious food.
After hearing all my friends telling me for years that I should start a travel blog because of my capacity to organize exceptionally well-planned travels, I finally decided to give it a try.
Valentina's Travel Guide
I can teach you a lot about the positive things to travel as a solo female traveler.
In 2010, I started traveling solo because I was tired of waiting to meet someone who couldn't wait to explore the world like me, but I soon found out there are many good reasons to travel solo.
I started with a 22 days solo travel around the south of Spain (crazy to be my first solo travel, I know), but it was the best experience I had ever had.
I quickly learned how to plan the perfect itinerary and explore new countries.
After that first solo travel, I had so many adventures around Europe and learned from all my solo travel mistakes, so if you are considering traveling solo, do it! It's amazing!
I met so many beautiful people that deciding to travel solo was probably one of the best decisions of my life, and I can give you many tips about it.
In September 2011, I went on a solo trip to London and completely fell in love with the city. I imagined living in London and couldn't stop thinking about it.
So in January 2013, I decided to save as much as possible, and in August 2013, I moved to London, where I have been living since.
Another fantastic decision I made. In London, I met Pamela, another Italian who had just moved there too, and we shortly became best friends, roommates (to save money to travel more), and obviously my travel mate.
We went to so many places together, we were doing everything we could to save money and travel at least five times a year, and we got addicted to traveling.
In August 2018 I met Lajos, a Hungarian guy that became my boyfriend, now fiance, and in summer 2023 my husband.
Thankfully he had a deep love for traveling like me so we started traveling together.
In 2020, during the pandemic, I had nothing to do at home, so I decided that it was time for me to start a travel blog.
I'm famous among my friends for being a super-organized traveler who loves planning the next trip so detailed that I could easily write a travel guide about every place I visited.
But after a few months, I had to return to work. I was a team leader in a famous coffee shop in London, and after the pandemic, I ran my shop and worked 12 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
I was always so tired that I spent weekends sleeping instead of working on my travel blog, which hurt me significantly.
I really wanted to work on my travel blog and help travelers plan their trips (and try to make a living doing what I love the most).
So in 2022, I decided to quit my exhausting job. I found a part-time job five minutes walk from home and started to work on Valentina's Travel Guide as much as possible.
So here I am, writing my About Me page and telling my story. I still work part-time and spend all my free hours working here, (my day start at 6 am and finishes at 10 pm) writing articles and travel guides to help you plan the best trip of your life in all the destinations I have visited so far.
It will take me a while to write about all the beautiful places I have visited, so follow me for travel guides, tips, and info to plan your next adventures! You won't need to look anywhere else, I promise!
